Since relocating to Europe, U.S. American soprano Brieann Pasko has sung on stages in Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. Most recently, she made her debut at the Berlin Philharmonic Kammersaal in a benefit concert supporting Ukraine. Earlier in the pandemic, Brieann can be seen in the documentary and concert, Das Besondere Konzert zur Jahreswende 2021 „Freudvoll und leidvoll- Schöne Stimmen” by the Sorbian Peoples Foundation. As a prizewinner of the 2019 Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg International Voice Competition, Ms. Pasko was among 10 singers chosen to work closely with soprano Melanie Maennl and perform a concert at the summer music festival.  Past concerts include collaborations with the Syrian Expat Philharmonic Orchestra (SEPO), the New Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra, in locations such as the Berlin Konzerthaus, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche, and the Marienkirche. Quite fittingly, Ms. Pasko also debuted her rôle as Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel in Berlin, Germany.

 

In the U.S., Brieann has been seen “cavorting nimbly” as Puck in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with the Peabody Opera Theater in Peabody’s Friedburg Hall. In her debut at the Baltimore Lyric Opera House she reprised the rôle of Soeur Constance with Peabody’s production of Dialogues Des Carmelites. The Baltimore Sun praised her “…light, bright soprano” and “… endearing portrayal…” Ms. Pasko joined the Bel Cantanti Opera Company in Rockville, Maryland, as Adele in Die Fledermaus.

 

As a performer of contemporary opera, Ms. Pasko has performed as Danica in the U.S. premiere of Svadba by Ana Sokolovic, Miranda in Ariel’s Tempest by Douglas Buchanan, and Betty in Robert Ward’s The Crucible. In concert, Ms. Pasko has been featured as a soloist in the States with groups such as the Occasional Symphony and the Charm City Collegium in Baltimore, Maryland. Ms. Pasko was the winner of the 2013 Kennett Symphony Voice Competition and recipient of the Hughes Scholarship and the Roz Patton Music Award.  Ms. Pasko earned her Bachelor of Music degree from West Chester University.  She later continued her studies at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University where she earned a Masters in Music degree as well as a Graduate Performance Diploma under the tutelage Phyllis Bryn-Julson.
